20) empiricism- (metaphysics) the philosophical theory which attributes the origin of all our knowledge to experience. (see also "phenomenalism")
21) circumstance- 1. a condition, detail, part, or attribute, with respect to time, space, manner, agent, etc., that accompanies, determines, or modifies a fact or event; a modifying or influencing factor. 2. (usually circumstances)- the existing conditions or state of affairs surrounding and affecting an agent.
22) cosmology- the branch of metaphysics speculating on the structure and nature of the most fundamental parts of the universe, such as space and time, the structure of the universe, the modifications of material things, causality, the laws of motion, and the order and course of nature; a metaphysical study into the origin and nature of the universe.
23) troposphere- the lowest region of the atmosphere, extending from the earth's surface to a height of about 3.7 to 6.2 miles (6 to 10 km), which is the lower boundary of the stratosphere.
24) array- 1. an arrangement of interrelated objects or items of equipment for accomplishing a particular task. 2. an impressive display or range of a particular type of thing. 3. an ordered series or arrangement.
25) abstract- 1. to do with existing in thought rather than matter, or in theory rather than practice. 2. having only intrinsic form with little or no attempt at pictorial representation. 3. to divert or draw away the attention of. 4. to consider as a general quality or characteristic apart from specific objects or instances: to abstract the notions of time, space, and matter.
26) abstraction- 1. an abstract or visionary idea. 2. the formation of abstract ideas or abstract qualities.
27) abstractionism- 1. a representation having no reference to concrete objects or examples; (metaphysics) the doctrine that ideas or abstractions actually exist; (epistemology) the view that knowledge is gained only through abstraction from particulars; more commonly called conceptualism.
